Some alumni and their teacher meet for the first time in 16 years at a small class reunion in a countryside cottage. But the happy reunion turns into a nightmare as they are brutally murdered, one by one. Old grudges and hidden truths from the past, surface in a series of unforgettably gruesome murders...
Different from its heartwarming title, the film deals with a deadly revenge of school graduates on their former teacher.Directed by Im Dae-woong, the film revolves around seven friends from elementary school, who visit their teacher 16 years after their graduation.
Different from what the teacher recalls, all her students have miserable memory about their school life due to their teacher, and their reunion turns out to be a long-awaited chance for vengeance."For those who like horror films, this film will be like a gift set as it offers various kinds of fears through various techniques and methods, which you haven't seen in other local horror films", Lim told reporters on May 29 on a set in Taean, South Chungchong Province.
Six twenty-something characters are invited for a party by their elementary school classmate Mi-ja (Seo Young-hee, the neurotic landlady from Jealousy is My Middle Name), who has been caring for her former teacher Ms. Park (Oh Mi-hee, recently seen in All for Love), now infirm and wheelchair-bound. The guests turn out to be a motley crew of losers and basket cases, however. Worse, each of them bears a serious grudge against Ms. Park. Sun-hee (Lee Ji-hyun, Yeo Gyun-dong's La Belle), traumatized by the teacher's public taunting of her baby fat, has become addicted to plastic surgery and suffers from bulimia.
Park Hyo-jun (A Dirty Carnival) ruined his leg while being punished by Ms. Park and had to fold his childhood dream of becoming an ace baseball player. Se-ho (Yeo Hyun-soo, Holiday) and Eun-young (Yoo Seor-ah), now a couple, are still struggling against the memories of insults and put-downs regarding their poverty. Even Myung-ho (Lee Dong-gyu, "Leo" from Kim Eung-soo's Desire), an obvious teacher's pet, is trying to medicate away the nightmares involving Ms. Park's creepy "affection." And wouldn't you know it, she used to keep her horribly deformed child in the basement, whose current whereabouts are unknown. Soon, someone wearing the kid's paper-cut rabbit mask starts to make salami and head cheese slices out of the characters.

A Tale of Two Sisters (장화, 홍련 Janghwa, Hongryeon literally 'Rose Flower, Red Lotus') is a 2003 South Korean psychological horror film by Kim Ji-woon. It is both the highest-grossing Korean horror film and the first to be screened in American theatres.
The film is inspired by a Joseon Dynasty folktale entitled "Janghwa Hongreyon-jon", which has been adapted to film several times. An American remake called The Uninvited starring Emily Browning and Arielle Kebbel as the sisters opened in 2009.
